Meet Dr. Michael Butcher
Founder and President
Dr. Michael Butcher is the Founder and President of the Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI), where he leads transformative strategies that help organizations harness the power of AI to innovate, adapt, and thrive. His work bridges advanced technologies with practical applications, reshaping organizational culture and delivering measurable outcomes. In addition to his leadership at the Center, Dr. Butcher serves as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Students, and Co-Chair of the AI Task Force at the College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA).
With an interdisciplinary background that spans technology, leadership, and education, Dr. Butcher holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a master’s in Public Administration, a doctorate in Educational Leadership, and a graduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence Business Innovation. This unique combination positions him to integrate technical expertise with strategic leadership, implementing AI-driven solutions across higher education, business, and government sectors.
Under Dr. Butcher’s leadership, the Center for Artificial Intelligence has become a trusted partner for institutions and businesses seeking tailored AI solutions, immersive training, and cutting-edge research. He also contributes nationally as an advisory board member for CareerOS, an AI-powered career services platform, and has been recognized in EdTech Magazine for his expertise in AI ethics. His influence extends across media and thought leadership platforms, including the Citizen Experience podcast, where he discussed responsible AI in government and business transformation.
A sought-after keynote speaker, Dr. Butcher has presented at premier conferences such as the NASPA Annual Conference, the Assistant Vice President Symposium, and the inaugural NASPA AI webinar Cut Through the Noise: A Practical AI Workshop for Immediate Impact. He has delivered major keynotes for organizations including StarRez Global Connect, AACE, GACE, SoACE, GCHR, and Texas A&M University, as well as speaking on AI accessibility at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference.
His impact extends beyond national stages. Dr. Butcher has facilitated AI training and strategy sessions for the University of West Georgia, Visit Savannah, the North Cobb (Atlanta) Rotary Club, Regents Administrative Committees, and universities across the University System of Georgia. He played a foundational role in CCGA’s AI Exploratory Committee and now co-chairs the institution’s formal AI Task Force.
In academia, Dr. Butcher pioneered CCGA’s first undergraduate course, Artificial Intelligence and Business Innovation, which equips students with essential AI literacy and applied skills. He also served as faculty for NASPA’s inaugural live five-week AI course, Level Up – Actionable AI Strategies for Student Affairs. Both programs have reached full capacity, reflecting the growing demand for his expertise in connecting theory with real-world application.
Dr. Butcher has also expanded the Center’s focus to include AI agents and automated workflows, enabling organizations to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and unlock new efficiencies.
